Last summer as I prepared to take my daughter to college, my sister-in-law Renee dropped by with a package for her.
Inside was a week’s worth of small gifts with a Bible verse on the outside of each gift. She told my daughter to open one gift a day during Sorority Recruitment Week.
It was extremely thoughtful, and my daughter deeply appreciated the gesture. When we moved her into her dorm the following morning, it made me happy to leave this box of surprises that would brighten up her week and remind her that she is loved beyond her immediate family.
We all need reminders like that!
Whether you’re taking your daughter to college soon — or have a niece or special girl in your life who’s headed there—these Bible verses can encourage her during this transition. Take screenshots, print them out, or use them any way you’d like to brighten the week of a special young woman and a younger girl still at home.
CS Lewis said, “We have to be continually reminded of what we believe. Neither this belief nor any other will automatically remain alive in the mind. It must be fed.” May we never grow tired of repeating the truth to our children. Even when they lose confidence in themselves, they can stay confident in their heavenly Father. His faithfulness endures forever.
Thinking of you moms whose kids are starting a new chapter away from home. May they hear God, feel God, and know He walks before them and with them, showing them new ways to be salt and light in a world that desperately craves it. Peace comes as they keep their eyes on Him and share the hope that they’ve been given.
Love,
Kari
